Drama (stylized as DRAMA) is an American duo from Chicago consisting of producer Na'el Shehade and vocalist/songwriter Via Rosa (born Lluvia Rosa Vela). Often described as a blend of R&B and dance, their music spans a wide variety of genres including pop, hip hop, jazz, bossa nova, and electronic. The band is known for their independent approach to creating and releasing their music. Their debut album Dance Without Me was released in February 2020. Born in Austin, Texas and raised on an Indian reservation in northern California, Rosa grew up touring with her parents who played in a reggae band. Rosa developed an interest in poetry while attending charter school, which she began combining with beats she wrote in her late teenage years. After attending a culinary school in Hollywood, Rosa moved to Chicago in 2010 to be with her grandmother who was battling cancer. There, she joined hip hop collective THEMPeople and released her own musical projects between 2010 and 2014.

Shehade, who was born and raised in Chicago, spent his teenage years DJing at clothing shops and record stores, and enjoying the city's house and electronic music scenes. He began making his own music in high school (which led to Bravo and MTV licensing his music), and although he eventually attended business school to study arts management, he ultimately began collaborating with other artists as a producer. Before forming Drama, Shehade worked on projects with Chance The Rapper (Acid Rap), Kanye West (G.O.O.D. Music's Cruel Summer compilation), Chief Keef, and Vic Mensa among others. Shehade was encouraged to start releasing his own music by artist Nicolas Jaar.

Rogue VHS & Beachdolls’s “Disappear” reflects on how people choose to remember relationships. The song starts with twinkling notes descending in a soft wash. In the distance, gently lustrous tones float as Jessica Ess’s bittersweet voice carries a lightly touching melody. Synth cascades around it with an opalescent sheen as Jessica Ess reaches out with burning expression while the gargantuan rhythm heaves.

The main melody is full of heartbroken pain while the notes around it gleam with silky light, and Jessica Ess grasps me with her evocative performance, her voice echoing with conviction. The notes that move past give off moonlight as the vocals flow through the music with plaintive strength.

The underlayer is heavy and full of great propulsion while the delicate vocals drift through the music with loss and emptiness. The song ends on Jessica Ess’s sincere expression of and a glimmering synth.

The narrator says that soon she’ll be a memory, someone you write about in a song. She adds, “Soon I’ll be a melody,” a flashback about how the other person was wrong. She could be the monster or the villain, “in the game for you to try and break in and rescue me from the flames.”

As our storyteller asks the other person to “call her a disaster,” she wonders if she’s everything they feared. She continues, “Tell them that it’s my fault, put it all on me.” She points out that the song’s subject will never tell their friends because “you were never here.” She adds, “You can blame it on my heart as you disappear.”

“I can leave it all behind, like your average movie screen,” she says, while the other person struggles with wondering why she wouldn’t stay. She explains, “Ready for rebirth, I know we were never in the scene,” and though the other person promised they would change for her, “that’s a losing game.”

In conclusion, our storyteller says, “We both know how it goes when strangers become lovers and back to strangers again. I’m okay with burning bridges, I don’t want to be friends.”

Beachdolls is the latest synth-drenched project from singer/ songwriter Jessica Ess, blending neon nostalgia with a raw emotional edge. Pulling influence from modern synthwave, horror soundtracks, and her past in rock, Jessica’s haunting vocals cut through shimmering synths and pulsing beats. Beachdolls is a project about memories and desire, but above all, resilience.

The LA-based duo of Michelle Buzz and Lance Shipp know their way around a classic pop structure. Between them they’ve co-written for Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears and Calvin Harris, but writing for established and relatively vanilla acts pushed their own work to the other end of the spectrum. They favour maximalism: the orchestra hit, thunderous stadium drums and lyrics that emote wildly in every direction.

Haute & Freddy

They recently inked a deal with Atlantic Records, who will release their debut LP Big Disgrace on March 13. Michelle Buzz and Lance Shipp are launching this era of the project with “Dance the Pain Away,” an electro-pop thriller that takes influence from ’80s new wave spun in new, unexpected directions by the duo. The duo’s ridiculously fun debut sounds like how an 80’s prom dress looks: loud, gaudy and full of bells and whistles to make it stand out above all the rest. The ball they wear it to treats us to a feast of succulent synthpop, from bite-sized appetizers to blowout bops that will bring the roof down and then some.

About Mikara

Japanese American Pop artist Mikara creates music that makes you want to move while simultaneously tugging at your heart strings. Her honey coated vocals dance around pop beats while pouring her heart out over lyrics straight from the soul.

Mikara’s passion for music and songwriting started at a young age. As a child, her father K-Doh would sing and play guitar to get the kids to fall asleep. While this method worked on her older siblings, it had the opposite effect on her, as she’d stay up singing and dancing all night long. By the age of 6 she was performing in front of crowds, with her dad backing her on guitar and she continues to perform out with him today with his band K-Doh & The Doh-Nutz!

In 2021, Mikara’s talent was recognized when she won celebrity voice coach Cari Cole’s Best New Artist Contest, and earned a scholarship to The Ride—an exclusive mentorship program led by award-winning songwriter and vocal coach Wendy Parr.

Her singles “you’re gonna miss me” and “Runaround” gained traction on Spotify’s New Music Friday Philippines editorial playlist, and she followed up with her dreamy debut EP, “Melancholia,” produced by Jeremiah Raisen who’s worked with the likes of Charli XCX and Sky Ferreira.

Now, Mikara is diving even deeper into her artistry as she works on her debut full-length album—a body of work that promises to take her vulnerable storytelling and signature sound to bold new heights.

Mikara is carving out her own lane—where vulnerability meets vibrance—and you can find her music on all major streaming platforms.

ZENA, the contemporary ethio-jazz duo from London comprised of producer, keyboardist and synth player Yohan Kebede and bassist/producer Menelik, have released their long-awaited debut EP ‘TEMESGEN’.

Taking its name from the Amharic word which means “Thank God”, ‘TEMESGEN’ is a six-track aural odyssey that balances uncompromising experimentation with a deep sense of home, comfort, and exploration. Moving fluidly between tradition and forward-thinking sound design, the project reshapes the contours of Ethiopian music, opening it up to a new generation of listeners while remaining rooted in its historic spirit.

Forged through a constant creative push and pull between the duo’s anchors, Yohan Kebede and Menelik, ‘TEMESGEN’ finds its power in the space between memory, heritage and innovation. Stretching the possibilities of Ethiopian music into something unmistakably new while sitting right at home within the UK’s evolving sonic landscape.

Speaking on how it feels to have the project out, ZENA said: “It’s equally scary as it is exciting! We feel as though we’re in uncharted territory in regards to the brand of music we’re putting out, so even though we’re both pretty experienced, it’s hard to predict exactly how people are going to receive it. Equally, that makes it exciting. Even just holding the record in our hands gave us butterflies. It’s given us the itch to make the next one”.

ZENA, comprised of keyboardist-producer Yohan Kebede and bassist-producer Menelik, is rooted in the Ethio-jazz that wafted through their childhood homes like the warmth and sacredness of etan, Ethiopian aromatic frankincense. ZENA upholds the vibrancy and innovation of the London scene both were born out of. It’s mystical yet unorthodox, soulful yet sexy, pulling from alternative R&B, trip-hop, dub and psychedelic influences; ZENA is taking the timeless sonics of Ethiopia beyond the motherland.

The duo’s debut EP, TEMESGEN is a six-track aural odyssey named after the Amharic word meaning “to be thankful.” It balances uncompromising experimentation with a deep sense of home, comfort, and exploration, allowing a profound gratitude for their shared heritage to permeate the project.

Sean Tyas, a New York native, now residing in Switzerland, brings to the dancefloor a mix of melodic harmony and driving groove that is sure to be just as effective on the legs as it is on the heart. He got his start in 1999 with his first set of Tech-12s and started to learn how to mix music, but just for fun on the side and a good excuse to buy dance records. But for him, this was not enough. In the coming couple of years, he put together a studio and began producing records as well. By the age of twenty six, he has already remixed artists such as Christina Aguilera, Pink, Moby, Daniel Bedingfield, Christina Milian, and PPK. During this time he got his start into professional DJing with clubs in NYC such as Shelter and Exit. Moving to Europe proved to be a great move for Sean, doing all production for DJ Beam in Germany and building his experience as a studio producer. Eventually Sean decided to step away, concentrated much more on his own productions and remixes. "Mirella" was the product of this exodus, as it was promptly signed to Afterglow Recordings, seeing John Askew and Dave Joy remixes. This led to a follow-up remix of Duderstadt - Muhanjala, which has seen almost every playlist of any trance DJ this year, including Armin van Buuren and Paul van Dyk. Sean's remix of Beam - "On your Mind" proved to be another HUGE club smash. Caned CONSTANTLY by the likes of Paul van Dyk, John O'Callaghan, & Armin van Buuren, this remix essentially locked Sean in as one of 2006's more endeared talents in the genre. The hype on his first Discover single "Lift", was even more amplified by Sean's winning of the Sander van Doorn - Punk'd Remix Competition, beating out over 250 other remixes. The following year and a half up until now, Sean has quickly been solidifying his place in the trance music genre with relentless remixes and productions. On the DJ side of things, Sean has hit the ground at a running pace, and by now in 2008 he has already played in over 30 countries spread across 5 continents. As 2009 comes around, Sean will now be getting back to the studio to focus on his original productions, and develop more as a production artist.

Sean Tyas, born November 8, 1979), is an American DJ and electronic music producer. His productions and DJ sets are mainly based upon trance music. Sean Tyas was born in Massapequa Park, New York on November 8, 1979.

Enamour

Origin: United States

As a curator of infectious grooves and wistful atmospheres, Enamour has developed a sound that delicately walks the line between deep introspection and pure club play. His sets are an intricate blend of deep, progressive, tech house and techno that values musicality over anything else.

With a number of releases under his belt on labels including Anjunadeep, Yoshitoshi, Sascha Braemer’s ‘whatiplay’, and Lane 8’s ‘This Never Happened’ imprint, Enamour has already made quite an impact in the scene. His music has been supported by names all across the DJ spectrum, including Pete Tong, Danny Howard, Guy J, Oliver Koletzki, Above & Beyond, Jody Wisternoff, Lane 8, Eelke Kleijn, Tim Engelhardt, and many more. In just over a year he’s already caught the attention of two legendary dance music institutions–DJ Mag and Mixmag–the former naming him an artist to watch in their July 2018 issue and the latter handpicking him to join their Magnified team in January of 2019 alongside 11 other artists.

In the past two years, Enamour has made his mark touring all over North America. Recently he’s even become a hot name in remixes after a 5 month reign at the top of the Beatport Deep House charts and #1 in the Hype charts with his remix of Donatello’s “Tears” and another 5 month reign on the Deep House charts with his remix of RUE’s “The Cult”.

His other releases, including highlights such as the eclectic “Hypnotica EP”, the genre-spanning “Quark” on Yoshitoshi, and his track “Ruby” on Anjunadeep have further demonstrated the breadth and quality of his productions but still only scratch the surface of his ability. This is just the beginning of the story for the young artist.

Above & Beyond, or Jono, Tony and Paavo as they are better known to their legions of fans around the world, have been at the forefront of electronic dance music for two decades.

Founders of the iconic Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep record labels and hosts of a weekly radio show, that reaches millions of dance lovers every Friday (Group Therapy), the trio have earned two GRAMMY™️ nominations for anthems 'Northern Soul' feat. Richard Bedford and 'We're All We Need' feat. Zoë Johnston. In 2018, the band’s fourth electronic album, Common Ground, debuted at number three on the Official Billboard Album Chart.

Described by UK music bible Q Magazine as “the world’s biggest cult band”, Above & Beyond's enviable list of sold-out shows includes headline performances at historic venues like Madison Square Garden NYC, The Hollywood Bowl, The Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall London, Red Rocks Amphitheater and record-breaking turnouts for their own festival events on LA's Huntington Beach and at The Gorge Amphitheater in Washington State.

Songwriters first, producers second, Above & Beyond’s unwavering commitment to their craft has fuelled a career that many electronic artists today might only dream of: four acclaimed studio albums, 14 compilation albums, two ‘acoustic’ albums (with a third forthcoming in 2020) and a stand-alone album for yoga and meditation - not to mention innumerable club cuts and dance remixes.

It wasn’t a plan of mine and even now I don’t really see myself as being linked to EDM any more than other music genres. I see music as a very fluid thing, and I’m drawn to strong melodies and chords, and the overall feel of a piece of music, rather than any particular genre. I probably first became linked with EDM when I sang for Faithless on their third album. They did something really unique for the time which was to perform dance music live, so I toured with them internationally for about 18 months as part of that live set. Above & Beyond had heard my work with Faithless but also liked the downtempo electronica vibe of the songs I recorded with Bent. I started working with them in 2004 and 17 years later we’re still in partnership with each other. It’s been a fantastic and really lovely journey, and I’m happy it’s still going on.

I realized at about the age of 17 that writing and singing my own songs had become very important to me, but it was probably around the age of 21 that I fully committed to music as a career and stopped applying for jobs in other areas of interest in my life. I went to University thinking I’d go into a film-making career (I studied journalism and broadcasting there), and I’d still love to make documentaries or feature-length films. Before that, I thought I’d be an illustrator or a novelist, and while I was still at school I wanted to train hearing dogs for the deaf. I still have a wide range of focuses and things that excite me in my life besides music. I do a lot of drawing and writing, and those things connect with the music in terms of ideas crossing over and where I draw inspiration from.

In terms of influence, for years I obsessively listened to hundreds of different albums by a very wide range of musicians and bands. I grew up in a big family where music was always played — it was very much a connective and colourful force in the home. People playing instruments was just something that always went on around me, so it felt natural to join in.

Step aside, boys. There’s a new queen of bass house in town. Negar Hamidzadeh, known by her stage name Nostalgix, is on a mission to spread love and positive energy through her self-curated sound. In a matter of only a few years, Nostalgix has skyrocketed from a dorm room DJ to performing on some of the biggest festival stages like HARD Summer and EDC to name a few.

As her stage name suggests, she reels listeners in with her nostalgic vibe that incorporates elements from 90’s pop and hip-hop music. “To me, nostalgia is all about a feeling,” she explains. “The feeling you get when you're in the right place at the right time.”

Her unique, distinctive style is chock-full of groovy basslines, riveting instrumentals, and enticing vocals. Never losing sight of her originality, she pushes her evolving sound against the musical confines of house music. In fact, Nostalgix is shaping the world of bass house as we know it, one authentic beat a time.

The MC Type is a Seattle native with a unique blend of crude humor and sharp rhyme skills. To label his music as comedy rap would not do justice to his capabilities in either field. Type can rap and sing at an amazingly high level, as well as write a cleaver song with fully developed musical structure and professional execution. What he is doing has never been done. The MC Type is an American-born rapper, singer and comedian based in Auckland, New Zealand. He is best known for his wild song concepts and hilarious music videos. Mainly creating self-aware satirical works, he has done "spot-on spoofs of emo rap and egregious backpackery." Type was in a hip hop group that charted on College Music Journal up to number 19 in the rap category and was picked up by over 210 public radio stations for regular rotation.

Johan Becker

Johan Becker is a singer and songwriter based out of Stockholm, Sweden. He was born in Helsinki 1971 and lived in Finland until 1997.
At the age of 7 Johan got his first drum kit which led to a childhood-teen career as a drummer in different bands. He won a national talent contest for his skills behind the drums when he was 13 years old. While he had always been able to sing it wasn´t until he was 19 that he became a member of his first rock band, as the lead singer.
Spending a year in the US as an exchange student further broadened Johan's experience as a musician. He learned how to play the guitar, which has proven to be useful in writing songs.
Anxious to develop his songwriting skills, Johan invested in a home studio.
After that, the next 5 years was spent developing his skills as a singer/songwriter, as well as doing gigs and going to university. His investment finally paid off, when his songs and demos captured the interests of publishing companies in Stockholm. Seizing the opportunity, Johan signed a publishing deal with Universal in 1998.
Johan has written songs for acts such as A-teens, Popstars, Starsearch, Peter Jöback, Fame Factory Academy, Kim Sanders, Nicole Lacy.
Johan also wrote and sang the song “She's a mystery to me” in the US movie “THE LONG SHOT”
He became famous in the reality show "Fame Factory" in 2003. Since then he has been involved in other projects such as The Wallstones and Star Pilots, as well as pursuing a solo career as Bekker.
Joined Secret Service in 2018.
